The Great Penguin and Banana Show (4+) – afternoon

Thursday December 30 | 13:30 hr

Somewhere on the South Pole live the last four penguins of Katona. What’s special about these penguins is that they only eat bananas. When the only banana tree on the South Pole is cut down, the penguins go on a journey to find a place where bananas are abundant. That place turns out to be Ome Jaap’s banana stand, Albert Cuypmarkt, Amsterdam, Netherlands. After a dangerous journey they arrive at the market stall of Uncle Jaap. But what should Uncle Jaap do with four penguins?
A funny and moving musical performance by the four versatile musicians of the saxophone quartet Ardemus Quartet.

Music by Claude Debussy, George Gershwin and Toek Numan, among others. This performance was created in collaboration with the National Youth Orchestra Netherlands.
