Janine Jansen





  • Janine Jansen is founder of the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht and was artistic director until 2016
  • From 2019 she is principal artistic advisor of the festival and she will be inviting future programmers. In 2019 she will be the festival’s programmer herself
  • She has performed with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Berliner and Münchner Philharmoniker, London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo
  • She has worked with conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Valery Gergiev, Riccardo Chailly, Mariss Jansons, Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Daniel Harding, Mark Elder, Edo de Waart, Sir Roger Norrington, Sir Neville Marriner and Sir Antonio Pappano
  • Important chamber music partners are Leif Ove Andsnes, Jean Yves Thibaudet, Amihai Grosz, Mischa Maisky, Julian Rachlin, Martin Fröst, Torleif Thedéen, Maxim Rysanov, Alexander Gavrylyuk, Itamar Golan and Boris Brovtsyn
  • She won the Dutch Music Prize in 2003, VSCD Classical Music Prize in 2008 and the Concertgebouw Priijs in 2013
  • She has an exclusive recording contract with Decca Music Group and received many Edison Awards for her recordings
  • In 2018 Janine was awarded the prestigious Vermeer Award
