Harriet says farewell & chamber music to go back to the winter

From 2014 onward the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht took place at the beginning of the summer. The first festivals under Janine Jansen and the lastest two with the young cellist Harriet Krijgh. All five were unforgettable, all of which we are immensely proud. Nevertheless we have decided, together with TivoliVredenburg to return to the period between christmas and new year, where it all started in 2003.

Despite the success of the summer editions, a strong feeling resides that there are too many other events and activities in June. The relatively quiet days after christmas is after all a better period for organizing the festival, from the point of view of the visitor, but also for setting up a unique event.

Moving to the December period unfortunately does not fit into Harriet Krijgh’s diary, not into her concert schedule and especially not into her personal life. For that reason she has let us know, with pain in her heart that she will step back as artistic director of the International Chamber Music Festival Utrecht

The festival will continue from December 2019.

We will keep you informed through this website and the newsletter.
