A little boy can’t wait to tell what he discovered that day at school. But his parents are at work and around him everyone is too busy to listen to him. Even the birds, insects and dogs in the park do not have time for him. The animals tell him about the park’s highest tree. What people do not know, but all the animals do, is that there is a huge ear in the trunk of the tree. An ear that really listens…

Gouden Griffel winner Annet Schaap wrote a moving story for young and old, about growing up and the importance of a listening ear.
