Claudio Bohórquez

  • Was professor at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart from 2011 to 2016, in September 2016 he was appointed to the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, where he has been visiting professor since 2003.
  • Played with orchestras such as Staatskapelle Dresden, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, the Wiener Symphoniker, the Collegium Musicum Basel, the Orchester de Paris, the Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France, the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.
  • Collaborated with Daniel Barenboim, Christoph Eschenbach, Manfred Honeck, Sir Neville Marriner, Eiji Oue, Krzysztof Penderecki, Leonard Slatkin, Tugan Sokhiev, Lothar Zagrosek and David Zinman.
  • Has been artistic director of Festival Winnenden since the 2017/18 season.
  • Studied with Boris Pergamenschikow
  • Won prizes at the Tchaikowsky Youth Competition in Moscow and the Rostropovich Cello Competition in Paris and the International Music Competition in Geneva
  • Plays a G. B. Rogeri cello that was offered to him by the Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg.
