A permanent and beloved part of the IKFU! From 7 pm we will take you to three beautiful atmospheric Utrecht churches that are extra beautifully decorated at this time of the year. Our international top cast plays familiar works, some of which are given a different look. For example, horn player Chezi Nir plays in Dvořák’s famous Dumky trio instead of the cellist. And Bach’s cello suites, but performed in an arrangement for two cellos. Where we will also hear two cellos is in Arenski’s special string quartet: instead of the standard instrumentation with two violins, this piece has an unusual instrumentation for violin, viola and two cellos. We will close the evening together from 9.30 pm in the Nicolaikerk, where our New Generations quartet Opus 13 will play Webern’s beautiful Langsamer Satz. Finally, Amihai and Janine share the stage together in Mozart’s Duo No. 1. Of course with mulled wine or chocolate milk and a delicious oliebol!
